How to verify that you own the property and why it matters.
Verifying ownership
Ownership verification confirms that you are the legal owner of the property. This is one of the most important steps in completing a Property Passport.
How to verify
1. Navigate to your property and open the Verification tab.
2. Choose a verification method:
- Title deed upload — upload a copy of your Land Registry title deed
- Land Registry check — we cross-reference the UPRN against Land Registry data
- Solicitor confirmation — your conveyancer confirms ownership via the platform
After verification
- An Ownership Verified badge appears on your passport
- Your Completion Score increases by 20 points
- Buyers and tenants see the verified status
What if I cannot verify immediately?
You can still use and share the passport before verification is complete. The badge simply will not appear until verification is confirmed.
